How long should I charge my wheelchair battery?
Burke Mobility Scout M Series Wheelchairs use Sealed Lead Acid batteries (SLA). SLA batteries do not charge quickly. Typical charge time is 8-16 hours. If you depend on your Burke Mobility Scout M Series wheelchair to be fully operational at all times, we recommend that you invest in two batteries and one of our Battery Tender chargers so you will always have a spare.What can I do to lengthen my wheelchair battery life?
You should try to never let your Burke Mobility Scout M Series wheelchair battery fully discharge. A full discharge causes extra strain and each cycle robs the battery of a small amount of its capacity. It is also important to remember that you should never leave your Burke Mobility Scout M Series wheelchair battery discharged for a significant length of time. This causes sulfation, which makes it very difficult if not impossible to recharge.
