How long should I charge my wheelchair battery?
Burke Mobility Plus III Series Wheelchairs use Sealed Lead Acid batteries (SLA). SLA batteries do not charge quickly. Typical charge time is 8-16 hours. If you depend on your Burke Mobility Plus III Series wheelchair to be fully operational at all times, we recommend that you invest in two batteries and one of our Battery Tender chargers so you will always have a spare.What can I do to lengthen my wheelchair battery life?
You should try to never let your Burke Mobility Plus III Series wheelchair battery fully discharge. A full discharge causes extra strain and each cycle robs the battery of a small amount of its capacity. It is also important to remember that you should never leave your Burke Mobility Plus III Series wheelchair battery discharged for a significant length of time. This causes sulfation, which makes it very difficult if not impossible to recharge.
