Next Lamborghini Laptop Due Early 2007 - 8/22/2006
Despite being officially announced last week (unveiled in early 2006 during CES), the next generation Asus Lamborghini laptop will be released in early 2007, according to reports. Asus will not say whether it will come equipped with Intel or AMD processor. The current Lamborghini VX1 uses Intel Core Duo and a standard 15-inch high resolution, competing against Acer's Ferrari 5000 laptop with AMD Turion 64 X2.

Tough gear for tough travel woes - 8/16/2006
Makers of tough-to-break, but often pricy, laptop computers and consumer electronics could get an unexpected boost from new carry-on luggage restrictions on flights to and from the United Kingdom. Last week, British aviation officials, in response to what investigators say was a foiled terrorist plot, announced tough new regulations that temporarily barred travelers from carrying computers or other types of consumer electronics on airplanes. The stringent carry-on rules were eased Tuesday, but current restrictions on luggage size still make it tough on travelers.

Dell notebooks to feature draft Wi-Fi standard - 7/17/2006
Dell plans to offer home users a new, faster version of wireless networking in their notebooks that has yet to be completely finalized by a wireless standards body. The draft specification for the next-generation 802.11n standard has been completed, but final ratification isn't expected until next year. Wireless networking vendors, however, have already started offering routers and access points based on the draft version of the technology, and Dell will now allow some notebook customers to purchase 802.11n cards bundled into their PCs.
