New Smoke Detector Batteries Saves Lives
According to statistics, many lives could have been saved had the lost victims had a functioning smoke detector alarm. Studies have shown that many times, the smoke detector battery was never replaced. "Hundreds of fatalities occur every year when individuals neglect to ensure their smoke detectors have fresh batteries." says Chief Larry J. Groud, president of the International Association of Fire Chiefs (Source: CNNMoney.com). The IAFC reports that while 96 percent of American homes have at least one smoke alarm, 19 percent of those detectors are not working, mostly due to missing or dead batteries. On average, home fires kill 540 children, 14 and under each year.*
AtBatt.com realizes that many lives can be saved with a new 9V battery for smoke detectors. Unfortunately, many Americans can’t afford to purchase these batteries for their homes or just aren’t aware of this situation. It is our mission to bring awareness to this issue as an industry leading battery supplier.
