What are the different types of Portable DVD Player batteries?
Some DVD Players use standard AA or AAA alkaline batteries. If your portable DVD player uses standard alkaline batteries, we recommend that you invest in rechargeable NiMH batteries or lithium batteries, which are primarily used in high-end electronics. However, we do recommend that you check your DVD player's manual to make sure that it can use a slightly lower voltage.
Battery technology types that are a bit more advanced and longer-lasting in portable DVD players, than alkaline batteries are nickel-metal hydride (NiMH). The disadvantage of these NiMH batteries is that they have a higher discharge rate when not in use. Li-ion batteries are lighter and more powerful than older battery types as well as rechargeable. In addition, Li-ion batteries do not suffer from the "memory effect." Li-ion portable DVD batteries are generally more economical and a better overall choice in the long run.
