Amstron SOL-10 Review
Amstron SOL-10 Review
Joseph Lopez
Thursday, August 21, 2008
The Amstron SOL-10 is a very useful accessory everyone should have. How many times have you run out of battery power on your cell phone before? It's not that we are careless; it's just that charging our electronics every day isn't one of our major priorities when we have school, work, kids, and life in general to worry about. The Amstron SOL-10 is a compact solar battery and charger that allows you to store energy straight from the sun and use it to power your electronic devices. It also comes with an AC adapter in case it's a cloudy day.
My first impression of this battery was great. It looks simple, stylish, and sophisticated with its subtle design. The small size and light weight is also a major plus. Whether you’re a business man on the go or a busy student who has little time for themselves, the SOL-10 will blend right in with any environment and situation.
When I held it in my hand it felt very sturdy You can tell when a product is poorly crafted when it feels like it could come apart at any moment. But the SOL-10 feels like a solid piece of equipment that isn’t going to let you down down despite its light weight and small size.
The Lithium Polymer battery inside the SOL-10 stores more than enough battery life to charge an average cell phone two times over. Although you may not need all this energy, it’s nice to know you have some backup power in case of an emergency.
It takes about 10 hours to fully charge the battery with the solar panel and about 5 hours to charge it using an AC outlet. But my favorite part of this battery is the miniUSB output tip. Any handheld electronic you have will be compatible to it as long as it has a miniUSB port. In addition, this battery comes with tips for Nokia, Samsung, Motorola, Sony Ericsson cell phones since they do not have a miniUSB port.
Overall, this is a wonderful product. Whether you're on the streets, in the mountains, at the beach, or in the wild; the Amstron SOL-10 solar charger will never leave you without power - wherever you are.
