Charge with the Wind: iFan for iPhone

“I for one charge my phone every day and am still amazed how short its power lasts. Quite often I run out of juice in the middle of the day, for these moments I came up with the Ifan. An hardware App in the shape of a soft rubber skin with the energy wind fan included. Just slide it around your Iphone and it will charge everytime the wind blows.” Tjeerd Veenhoven
Dutch designer Tjeerd Veenhoven is taking a different approach when it comes to charging an iPhone battery. Because we’re not always around an electrical outlet when it’s time to recharge, alternative methods of juicing up are continuously being sought out and developed. Veenhoven’s method in particular harnesses the power of the wind, and could be ideal for those who love the outdoors but still want to be connected.
It’s still fairly early in its development, but the concept behind the iFan for iPhone is definitely something to keep your eye on.

Wow, this is a really nice project. I have made something similar, but with batteries. A small dynamo on my roof thath charges 2AA batteries. Then, I used a Minty boost to charge the iPhone with the batteries. The problem was the self made propeller, they crashed and I need new ones.
The problem I see with my sister is some looses because of the long way from wind to the ilhone over the batteries and the charger. At the other hand, I see with the iFan concept the proble. With placing and letting the iPhone on the wind. Will you hold your phone out of the window?
