Batteries Becoming More Eco-Friendly By the Day
Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. We all know these words, and we all know we should practice them. Its simple really if you think about it…but that in itself is actually the hard part…thinking about it. Even so, it’s important that we are conscious of what our individual impact is on the world and how we contribute to the big picture.
Batteries have a become a big issue in the landfills, but there are ways we can ‘reduce’ this problem. By using rechargeable batteries, we dramatically decrease the amount of batteries we are using and tossing away. There is a new type of rechargeable battery that costs a little more, but is well worth it in the long run. Rayovac Hybrid, Enelop and Hybrio have all developed Hybrid Rechargeable Batteries that are made with Ni-MH cells. They hold their charge over many months, a unique hybrid feature unlike your average alkaline battery. They last longer and come fully charged out of the package for your convenience.
Though your average alkaline rechargeable batteries cost less than the Hybrid Rechargeables, which is what makes them so tempting to buy, they may need to be replaced sooner…. which in turn creates more waste etc. So why not invest a little extra money to keep on keeping on with a high-performance rechargeable that are strong and long lasting ? Plus, you will be Reducing, Reusing AND Recycling !

Stay Conscious. Stay Green.
