Lithium Manganese Dioxide selected within Varta Consumer Batteries
Varta is one of the oldest manufacturers of disposable batteries based in Dischingen, Germany. Founded in 1904 with the brand name Varta, the history goes back a bit further into history when the batteries were known as accumulators - a simple device that stored energy. Varta was the first to introduce electromobiles in Germany with Varta predecessors, the AFA (Accumulatorenfabrik AG). Varta was also the first ever to introduce storable dry-cell batteries in 1926. Since then, Varta has expanded its portfolio to a variety of consumer disposable and reusable batteries.
