Auto Starting

Optima deep cycle batteries, YellowTop and BlueTop batteries, are designed to withstand heavy or prolonged current draws. Examples of accessories that create current heavy draw would be car audio, car audio, special lighting, power inverters and electro-hydraulics. This can also occur if a battery sits unsued for a long period of time before recharging. Additionally, modern electronic devices cause parasitic drain; and all batteries also experience self-discharge over time. Optima's deep cycle batteries tolerate repeated deep discharging without premature failure and have an exceptionally low self-discharge rate, making them ideal for applications that require a heavy current draw.
Antique Autos
Optima 12 volt and 6 volt batteries is the ideal for use in antique/classic autos. The reason is that Optima batteries have a low self-discharge rate, which allow it to holds a charge during long periods of nonuse during storage.
